A written word of perception.

Have you ever noticed that when you are in a good mood, everything around you seems to work out perfectly? And when you are frustrated, the problems seem to build up? This isn't some mass conspiracy. It is your brain creating your perception of reality.

When you think things are perfect, they will be perceived as such. But when you think life couldn't get worse, it does.

The good news is that with this knowledge, you can actively control your perception and therefore alter your reality.

It may sound like a superhero power, but it doesn't take much training. Read on to find out how.

What is Perception?

No one's had the exact same experiences as you. This makes you a unique individual with one-of-a-kind thoughts. These experiences and thoughts have formed into a perception of reality.

Think of your experiences as building blocks that have created an image of your world.

For example, you may be afraid of dogs since you were chased and bitten by one as a child. As an adult, this fear still exists to the point that you feel as if dogs are wild animals, not pets.

Someone who grew up with dogs considers them to be part of the family. You don't understand how people can have vicious animals in their homes and even sleep with them in their beds.

Then one day, a dog is lost in the park and finds his way onto your lap. You freeze in terror, but the dog starts licking your face. Suddenly, your perception is altered. You see the joy and kindness of the dog instead of an aggressive beast.

Ironically, dogs go through similar conditioning resulting from past experiences that created their behavior toward humans. So, the dog that bit you most likely was abused by a human and has a similar fear.

Larger and more complex perceptions exist that are difficult to break. If you look deep into the cause of your perception, then you can inevitably alter it.

Perception creates reality and ultimately runs the course of your life.

Changing Your Perception

Since your thoughts create your reality, then all you have to do is change the way you think. You can do this by directing your thoughts toward positive thinking.

Yoga and meditation are perfect mediums to train your brain. While meditating, you notice that you exist beyond the mind and body. This will help you realize who you truly are.

Here are some ways to help you start changing your perceptions.

  • Be in charge in your life.
  • Set your goals and make it happen.
  • Develop can-do attitude.
  • Start journaling to help you sort out your priorities.
  • Focus on the positive things rather than thinking about the negative things that happened.
  • Be grateful and accept your flaws. Remember that no one is perfect, everyone is unique and special.

Ego Influence Your Perception

The ego operates on a low frequency, relying on the senses to form a perception of reality. This means you act for physical satisfaction often selfishly.

And when you look upon the ego from a place higher than it, you gain a different perspective. You begin to see what controls and influences the ego.

Operating on a higher frequency means that you understand that we are all connected. You use your intuition to tap into the cosmic energy of love, kindness, and oneness.

The ego leads to a negative view of society where competition drives you. But, using your intuition and higher perspective, you see that everything happens for a reason.

An egotistical mind strives to be happy by accumulating objects and seeking attention, but the intuitive spirit knows that happiness is already a part of your being.

You can then be happy in an instant and remain that way for the rest of your life.

Manifesting Your Desires

With the knowledge that your thoughts create reality, you can open up your mind to a world of possibilities. Your perspective can change with a simple thought. These thoughts will create your desires.

Any lifestyle blog will tell you that to get what you want in your life, you have to work for it. This is true, but instead of listening to your ego that gets ahead by competing, listen to your conscious mind to achieve your dreams.

Don't worry what others think of you. This is the concern of the ego. When you become your true self, you will attract the right people and remove others.

Becoming free to be yourself makes you feel like anything is possible. You aren't restricted by financial burdens or tied to toxic relationships any longer.

And when you remove these roadblocks, you will automatically see the difference in your reality. Following your dreams will be easy when that is your focal point not pleasing others.

Let your desires be your guide. They're the biggest defense against the fear of the unknown and the negativity of your old mindset.

Your ability to change your perception is proof of the power of your thoughts.

So, when you recognize fear, ask where it comes from. Is it part of your past experiences? Is it rationale? And can you overcome it?

You might cure your fear of dogs by one visit to a dog shelter with the intention of meeting a sweet pup. If you have the intention of confirming your fear, then it won’t work. You will find a way to encounter another vicious dog.

Remember that your intention means everything. And your intention should also be positive and progressive.

Change is Just the Beginning

Once you change your perception, you will begin to see the world differently. You will find that life is a gift, not a struggle. Your entire persona will be transformed as stress is removed from your very being.
